tidbits from 2012

december of 2012 was a crazy month for us.
here's a brief overview of all the things that took place and changes that life brought.

kyle came home in the fall and announced he'd found a house.
i was hesitant but gave in after seeing such excitement in his eyes.

we made an offer without contingency upon the sale of our own house
so knew we would need to get our home on the market soon.
putting our first home on the market
during this season of life i had clinicals from 6:30 pm to 7:30 am.
our realtor wanted to take pictures at 10:30 the morning after a night shift so i stayed up and cleaned until he got there with his camera. he officially listed the house that afternoon.
i went to sleep and got a call waking me a few hours later asking if he could show the house.
of course, i got up and left.
we got an offer three hours later.  the house was on the market less than a day.
even the closing date lines up with the closing on the house we are buying.
God is good and his timing is perfect!

in addition to moving in december, and celebrating christmas, i also graduated and took boards.
thanks to my hubby and family for all your support!

 then came christmas!
my grandma was being silly here and pretending to walk the runway -
but did stop to pose for a photo with grandpa!

me with my sis

these lovebirds flew the coop and moved the the big apple.
i miss them but am excited for this adventure.

i love each and every one of my crazy family members!

everyone looks a little more like this normally!

althought blurry, this is my fav.
apparently someone didn't hear that in this picture we were just smiling. :)

more family gatherings. this one included a new addition.

my nephew, dylan.
such a sweet boy! i just love this little moose.

let's see. . . graduation also meant resumes, cover letters, interviews, and a career change
which took me away from teaching and landed me in an entirely new line of work.
i started work in the nicu in january!

we decided to squeeze a in a vacation -
leaving the day after graduation and getting back just in time for christmas.
we flew to mexico to experience an all-inclusive resort for the first time.

 it felt like paradise.

having coffee on the pier

gorgeous sunsets while walking along the beach

because of the move, i didn't get to put up a tree this year so especially loved that the resort was decorated for christmas with lots of lights, poinsettias, pine trees, and even a nativity set.

sipping coffee and watching the sunrise.

we spent our mornings drinking coffee near the waves, our days relaxing on a beach bed or snorkeling, and our evenings in the hot tub, walking the beach, or laying in a hammock.
so different from our typical vacations which include camping, hiking, and sleeping in a tent -
but i loved every minute of it.

kyle took my picture in front of my favorite tropical flower.
we later realized i happened to wearing the exact same dress i took on our honeymoon (yes, i'm that cheap). although the locations were many miles away, the pics are kinda similar.

so here you have it. . . a honeymoon pic taken nearly 7 years ago.

i will end with this so we can all daydream we are on the beach
as a coping mechanism to make it through the rest of winter.
