we celebrated six years of marriage in may. although i'm late in documenting the day,
we really enjoyed looking back over the years since we said, "i do."
it prompted us to look back at old photos,

and reminded me of this dress - which i don't believe i've worn since our honeymoon -
but decided it fit the occasion.

it was the first time i felt we looked different, so much younger.
especially kyle. don't you think?

back to 2012. we celebrated with thai food in westport.
then headed to the nelson-atkins museum of art and walked around kc sculpture park.
we visited ewing & muriel kauffman memorial garden and the river near the plaza.
fyi. did you know the color of a hydrangea is dependent upon the ph of the soil -
in a more alkaline soil the blooms are pinker, while acidic soil results in bluer hydrangeas.
my cute husband had to identify and discuss each tree in the park.
we used the timer setting and snapped a few shots -
probably the last anniversary we celebrate in our first house.
i told kyle i think year six of marriage has been the best so far.
who says the first years have to be the best?
marriage is a journey of sacrifice and love, sanctification and joy.
kyle, thank you for choosing me. i can't wait to see what year seven brings.
